Well as you know i bought this a few months ago

I didnt have any plans for it as it was bought just for short term use while the nova was off the road, but as i desided to break the nova i desided to keep the corsa
Until disaster struck and the engine went bang :mad:
So it had now turned into project corsa
Plans ar simple and not over the top lol
2.0 xe engine
gsi kit
colour code
And lower the coilovers abit more
Anyway as it was nice at the weekend thought id make a start and remove the old 8v lump


Also since it was good weather i though id start to underseal it to


Well this is how the car stands now lol


Gona clean the bay up and paint it up before the new engine goes in
All i need now is to find a new engine which aint goin well so far

Well thought id clean up the bay whilst the engines out
so desided to just underseal all up the bulkhead so it cant rot

And gave the chassis legs and inner wings a freshen up with paint

Well not much of an update im afraid as im still waiting for parts for the engine
But while its apart thought id paint up a few things
Rocker cover

T-belt cover

2.0 engine mount

Power cap

Well not much of an update im afraid, as im still waiting for bits for my engine
But what did arrive today was some other bits i bought :cool:


They will be getin put to the bodyshop asap :thumbs:
And some more bits to help the handiling :cool:


I already have the 2.0 upper front strut brace :cool: so thought id get the front lower one
And one for the rear, and yes i know its red but is new and thats how they come, will be gettin sent away to be powder coated

Ok at last some more progress
Managed to get the engine and box bolted in today :cool:
To say it was a tight squeeze is an understatment lol
Looks tidy sitting in place though :cool:

Had some free time today so thought id tkel the wiring loom :eek:

Since i never actually removed the xe i had no ideaa what went where :rolleyes: :laugh: but soon got there in the end



So getting there lol
Still to do: all water pipes radiator etc
fuel ines
drive shafts
Ajust gear linkage
Getting there though

Got my dimma show cage today

Wiring and coolent pipes, fuel pipes done


Found out i am missing an importent part to make the engine run (ignition amplifer) which i wasnt given when i bought the engine :mad:
So not best pleased
Still drive shafts to fit
Ajust gear linkage
And then check everything to make sure its all tight etc

Slight update
Cage fitted

Everything conected up in the bay

And back on its wheels

Just need to get my ignition amplifer and it should be running :cool:

Got my gsi kit back from being painted :cool:

Exhausts done
Started fitting the kit well front bumper :p

Well at last i have more of an update
Gsi kit is now all fitted :cool:
And it passed its mot today

Ok i have another update

The corsa is now dead some how it slipped the timing and bent valves :17:
The full extent of the damage is not yet known, but its looking like a top end rebuild :mad:
To say im gutted is an understatment, put alot of time and money into this car and looks like its gna need more spent on it :rolleyes:
Will keep yous updated, unless i end up burning the damm thing :mad:

Well when i thought it couldnt get any worse it has
Found the cause of why my t-belt snapped :17:
There was a bolt wedged in at the cam causing it to lock and snap the belt not only has it bent the valves but it has also cracked one of the cam shafts :mad:
Its not a pretty site
Looks like one off the bolts that hold the splash pan on the rocker cover came loose and fell out
Looks like the best option will be to try sorce another head with cams and replace the whole thing

Well as you know it had a cracked cam and 8 bent valves best thing to do was sorce another head and boy what a mission
But after a few days of find a part requests and emailing many breakers i finaly sourced 1
Arrived today an seems in good condition :cool:



Next thing to do is build the engine back up and pray

Not updated this in a while

All back up and running

Also thought it was time to get the plate put on

Not done much more except paint the door strips lol

And also got some guages to keep an eye on the engine lol

Next on the list is remove the lex**** lights
Then will be of to the bodyshop after new year to get the body work finished off
