warning light?

Hi my girlfriends gots a vectra elite 3.2l v6,the light of the spanner on the car came up,and a loss of power but it still drove,she took it to the garage and they changed 2 sensors,she isnt sure which ones and now it has cured the fault,light has gone and power is as normal,they have told her if the light comes up again she will need a new gearbox(she has a semi auto box) is this true.Cheers

the engine management light can be for a number of faults..

maybe ask the garage for the diagnostics report...

and why would she need a new gearbox IF the light comes on again????

i would question that too, if thats the case, then why not put a new gearbox in BEFORE the light comes on again???

is it under warranty???

Yeah thanks for that,im abroad at the moment so cant do much with it myself,got an email from the other half explaining the problem.I myself couldnt see why the Vauxhall garage had told her she would need a new gearbox if the light came on again,just doesnt sound right,with the price of the gearbox they told her to get rid of the car and sell it???Its not under warranty anymore,its a fantastic car and only has 40k miles in it,of course she panicked with the thought of selling.Thanks for the advice fella

no worries, thats what i'd do if it was me..

and the thought of the gearbox..Hmmm pricey, out of warranty too..

time to trade maybe?
